Rami Khalaf

Rami is responsible for the compliance, AML and risk functions. With over eighteen (18) years of practice in asset management and securities services, Rami Khalaf is currently a consultant in governance, risk and compliance with CCL Limited and outsourced to Ithmar. Over the course of his career, Mr. Khalaf supported the formation, launch, and operation of firms from both the buy and the sell sides working with global organizations as well as with boutique firms. Before joining CCL, Rami was the COO & Risk Manager at Ithmar. Prior to that, Mr. Khalaf was the Head of Operations for Franklin Templeton Investments (Middle East) Limited and Algebra Capital starting from 2007. At Franklin Templeton Mr. Khalaf was responsible for the middle and back office operations supporting the group trade and funds services in the MENA region. Rami launched his career in financial services in 2001 with SHUAA Capital then joined Al Mal Capital where he served as Operations Officer and Operations Manager, respectively. At Al Mal Capital Mr. Khalaf was instrumental in setting up, licensing and launch of the asset management services as well as the brokerage subsidiary.

Over the span of his career, Mr. Khalaf accumulated extensive knowledge in fund structuring, domicile selection, production of offering documents, selection of service providers, marketing, client on-boarding…etc. He also accumulated extensive knowledge in the trading and settlement of major financial instruments including equities, bonds, treasury bills, foreign exchange, options, futures, and collective investment vehicles.

Mr. Khalaf holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut and a diploma in Compliance, AML & Financial Crime from the University of Reading. Rami also holds certifications in the DIFC Rules & Regulations and Risk in Financial Services from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
